Jeep Commander was a mid-size SUV that Jeep released in 2006. Initially, it came in base, Limited, and 65th Anniversary Edition trims and offered a choice among 3.7-liter V6 and 4.7- and 5.7-liter V8 engines. The former put out 210 horsepower, while the latter -- more specifically, the higher 5.7-liter-capacity engine -- produced 330 horsepower.

In 2007, Sport and Overland trims were added, and the 4.7-liter V8 engine option was capable of 235 horsepower. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) system choices ranged from Quadra-Trac I for the V6-equipped model to Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II. By 2010, the year that the SUV went out of production, the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI engine got upgraded to 357 horsepower. Features available throughout the model's career ranged from aluminum wheels, air conditioning, and power-adjustable pedals to a six-disc CD changer, a power moonroof, an engine block heater, UConnect infotainment, and more.
