2010s
Dodge Dakota was a mid-size truck than ran from 1987 to 2011. If you're driving one these days, there's a good chance that it's a model from the 2010 model year or before.
Initially, the pickup came in base, LE, and SE trims, offered two-door and extended cab configurations, and featured a choice of 2.2-liter, four-cylinder and 3.9-liter V6 engines. In 1988, an SE trim was added, while in 1989, the four-cylinder engine capacity got a bump to 2.5 liters and a Shelby trim with a 5.2-liter V8 engine became available. 1990 brought with it an S trim, 1994, SLT and WS trims, 1998, R/T trim, and 2002, an SXT trim. For its final year, the model came in ST, Big Horn, Laramie, Lone Star, and TRX4 trims.
Features over the truck's many years included a Club Cab configuration, four-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmissions, and rear- and four-wheel drive trains (RWD and 4WD, respectively; the latter with a hi/low transfer case). You could also get everything from air conditioning, a dual-position tailgate, and a power sunroof to anti-lock brakes, aluminum wheels, and skid plates. You could even opt for a cargo box rail with movable tie-down cleats.
